The Sustainable Garden

Sometimes the best choice is to wait!

Not every problem needs an immediate solution.

Gardens often recover on their own when conditions stabilize. Seasonal stress can look like failure, but isn’t.

Resilient gardening includes knowing when to pause.

Before removing or replacing something, ask:

  • Is this plant newly established?

  • Is this stress seasonal?

  • Has the site changed recently?

Waiting allows patterns to emerge. Those patterns lead to better decisions.

As we move toward spring, readiness matters more than urgency.

Next week, we’ll begin talking about mulch — and it’s importance in the garden.

Happy Gardening!
